Primary School Curriculum

At St Ultan's, pupils follow the Primary School Curriculum which includes the following range of subject areas:

  • Communication and Literacy
  • Numeracy
  • SPHE – Social, Personal and Health Education
  • SESE – Social, Environmental and Scientific Education – History
  • Visual Arts
  • Music
  • Drama
  • Physical Education
  • Religious Education

All aspects of the curriculum are differentiated according to the needs and abilities of all pupils. An emphasis throughout the curriculum is placed on the enhancement of language and communication, functional literacy and numeracy and the necessary life skills to promote independent living.

Pupils in senior classes of post-primary age also receive opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in:

  • Home Economics
  • Woodwork
  • Horticulture
  • Information & Communication Technology
