It is with great regret that we inform our school community that we will be unable to offer school-based July Provision this year.
This decision has not been made lightly by the Board of Management. We are unable to support the proposed provision due to a number of issues including:
- Provision of a safe environment for our pupils and staff.
- H.S.E. guidelines on returning to the workplace safely recommend the provision of appropriate hygiene facilities, proper ventilation, maintaining physical distancing of at least 2 metres, and installation of physical barriers, such as clear plastic sneeze guards.
- Lack of available staff.
- Transport guidelines issued by the H.S.E.
Both our pupil and staff health and safety are paramount to us and unfortunately,
St. Ultan’s Special School is currently not in a position to adhere to the recommended guidelines.
However, you may access information on home-based July Provision through this link:
We are all working hard in an effort to comply with Government guidelines for the planned re-opening on Thursday 27th August 2020.
We thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing all our pupils in the new school year.
